Meet The Team – Guy Spencer – Account Director
What were you doing before you joined the team and how did you and Soccialy find each other?
“Before this, I have been working for various different kinds of online recruitment businesses in London running sales teams where Romy had trained my salespeople. When he and Gareth were setting the business up in 2015 we spoke about the opportunity and I have been enjoying doing this ever since.”
What do you do for fun?
For fun I like a few things, mainly very different than my job. I like the outdoors and I live on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales National Park and so it’s easy for me to get right out in the middle of nowhere quite quickly. I am a bit creative too and like doing up my house, currently buying old original prints and mounting them up to hang on the wall. Also, my cat Kiki is way cool.
What’s your go-to playlist when you’re working?
“I am from a musical family and have played the guitar since I was in primary school and when I’m working I have the radio on constantly, usually Radio 6 because it’s not too commercial and plays stuff from left-field. If I’m having a party I like an online radio station called Cowbell. Maybe a bit of Classic FM at Christmas? Who doesn’t like that!.”
What inspires you creatively?
“I derive creativity from nature but also from being surrounded by lively and intelligent people to spark off of.”
What’s your greatest achievement?
“My greatest achievement will have to remain a mystery!”
Any parting words of wisdom?
“A lot of doing well personally or professionally comes down to how well you communicate. I really believe that the outcome of collaboration can become more than the sum of it’s parts.”
